On January 16th, 2023 the Algoma Art Society celebrated its' 75th Anniversary

The first event of 2023 was the opening of the Algoma Art Society's 75th Anniversary Art Exhibition that officially opened in the Main Gallery of the Art Gallery of Algoma on Friday, January 6th, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.  

Speakers at the Official Opening were Jasmina Jovanovic, Executive Director/Chief Curator of the Art Gallery of Algoma, Rutger Becker, President of the Algoma Art Society and Mark Lapore, Chairman of the Board at the Art Gallery of Algoma.

The Opening  of the 75th Anniversary Art Exhibition at the Art Gallery of Algoma was a great success and well attended.

This 75th Anniversary Exhibition at the AGA features fifty-three paintings. 

- Twenty-five of the paintings are by current members of the Algoma Art Society.

- Nine paintings and one photograph are by former deceased members of the Algoma Art Society.

- Ten paintings are by former Algoma Art Society members that are now in the Art Gallery of Algoma's permanent collection.

- Eight art works on display were donated to the Art Gallery of Algoma by the Algoma Art Society.
