Warren Peterson

Bio for Warren Peterson, Fine Artist

Sault Ste. Marie Ontario area artist Warren Peterson has been painting and drawing landscapes for over 50 years and never gets tired of the challenge and inspiration that Nature provides.

Born and raised in Toronto, Warren’s love for the Algoma and Lake Superior regions was honed by his life-long exposure to works by the famous Group of Seven artists and the lore of their painting expeditions to these regions. Some of their influence can be seen in his paintings. Warren moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1991.

Warren is a contemporary realist who primarily paints landscapes with acrylics. Warren also works in watercolour, graphite and charcoal.

Warren is an honours graduate in Advertising and Graphic Design from Humber College in Mississauga Ontario. Primarily a self-taught artist, much of his design background can be seen in the visual balance his images have and the way they draw the viewer into the works. His emotional attachment to the land and his design sense is conveyed through paint, leaving you with a sense of being in that very spot at that very time of day.

Warren works from his home and studio on St. Joseph Island on Lake Huron. Warren also teaches landscape painting and drawing through various workshops and is available for select commission work for your home, cottage, business or as a gift that could last for generations.

Warren’s works can be found in private collections throughout Canada and in California, Oregon, Washington State, Florida and Texas USA; and in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.

Warren sells direct and through The Ethel Curry Gallery in Haliburton Ontario. He is also available for private or corporate commissions. You can see more of his work at www.warrenpetersonart.com.
