Judy Henderson
Biography
Art is my form of expression. Through painting and drawing, I explore and attempt to provide a unique definition of what inspires me. Following a realistic style, my favorite subject matter are portraits and figures, but I also delight in the painting of landscapes, florals, buildings, pets, wildlife, new and antique vehicles, boats and ships, as well as waterscapes.
Oils are my medium of choice, but I also enjoy experimenting with other mediums, such as watercolour, acrylics, graphite, mixed media, pastels, and pen and ink.
As an active member of the Algoma Art Society in Sault Ste. Marie since 1982, I am currently treasurer, website convenor and look after membership. I am also a member of the Northern Ontario Art Association (NOAA).

I've also taken courses by different instructors in portrait and figure drawing and painting. I have participated in watercolour, pen & ink, oil and acrylic, pastel and multi-media workshops. Since February 2011 until early 2024 I attended drawing sessions with the Underground Group of draped and undraped models. In 1990 I received an Honours Diploma in Advertising Art and Graphic Design. During my both years of study I received the Art Faculty Award for achieving the highest grade point average. I held the position of Graphic Designer at Sault College from 1989 to 2003.
